Press spot welders and press projection welders for resistance welding applications

Press spot welders and press projection welders for use in a variety of resistance welding applications. Press welders operate by moving the upper electrode and weld head vertically in a straight line. The lower electrode, which remains in a “fixed” position during the weld process, can be adjusted vertically to allow for different gaps, depending on your welding requirements. Common uses include fastener and stud welding because of this vertical action.

The strengths of resistance press welders include: fastener, nut, and stud welding, performing welding operations in tight spaces, high electrode force applications, projection welding applications, applications requiring specialized tooling, frequent tooling changes.

WSI and TECNA press welders can be equipped with platens or weld arms. Projection welding utilizes platens with T-slots for mounting part fixtures and tooling. Spot welding uses a weld arm configuration. Platens and weld arms are most often made of copper or class 2 copper alloy.
